​WEHS Sapphires

About Our Team

The Sapphires drill team is a dance team comprised of 9th - 12th graders, who represent Wylie East High School in Wylie, Texas. Our objectives include the following:

​
 

• Halftime entertainment at all Raider Varsity Football games. 
  • Halftime entertainment at as many Raider Varsity Basketball games possible. 
    • Perform in WEHS Pep Rallies. 
      • Perform and/or participate at other functions involving Wylie East per the direction of the Sapphires Drill Team Director. 
      • ​Participate in at least one contest during the Spring
      • Present the Annual Spring Show.

          The WEHS Sapphires Drill Team is also supported by the Sapphire Studs, their guards. Studs are junior and/or senior guys, chosen by the officers and Sapphire Director in May. They escort the Sapphires to all games and functions, participate in team spirit routines at games and Pep Rallies, and hang out with a team of beautiful and talented girls!
